Peterson Can Make Cards' Secondary Elite

So the Cardinals didn't get a quarterback.
They didn't get a pass rusher. (Why, Denver? Why?)
To me, no big deal.
They may have just got the best player in the draft.
Heck, they may have gotten the best cornerback since Champ Bailey in the first round.
Maybe I'm wrong. But it sure is exciting to think about. Now the question becomes, when does Patrick Peterson start?
Do the Cardinals take their time with him like with DRC, and play him at nickel until he's ready? Or do they start him immediately?
I tend to think immediately, as you would with the fifth overall pick in a draft. But I could be wrong -- remember, the off-season has already been shortened. He's a heck of an athlete, but he's got to learn the Cardinals system, which is new this year under Ray Horton.
And what about punt returns? Does he take them immediately from Andre Roberts? I do tend to think so there as well.
Overall, I couldn't be more excited though.
Could the Cardinals have the best secondary in the league by next year? It's a decent possibility now. That's a scary thought.

With the NFL Draft now just one day away, the Arizona Cardinals face a very tough choice at pick No. 5. While Arizona had the worst rushing attack in the league and the second worst passing game, the Cards must go defense with their first-round pick. I realize that Max Hall is the not a franchise quarterback but the fact of the matter is that neither is Blaine Gabbert.
So much has been written about the Arizona Cardinals and what they should do with the No. 5 pick in April's NFL Draft. So many thoughts, so many opinions. Who knows who is right and who is wrong? All I know is this: The Cardinals had better find a new quarterback by the time July rolls around.
We all know by now that Ray Horton has been hired as the new defensive coordinator for the Arizona Cardinals. The news wasn't really all about who was hired. To me, it was about what was said in the introductory press conference. It was also about attitude -- one that said the defense was going on the offense to attack its opponents.
