Your "Bad Beat" for Thursday is on:
Penn State (minus 2) vs. Michigan.
Colt McCoy getting injured makes Texas a "Bad Beat" in a different sort of way as all Longhorn fans are cursing their luck, or bad luck I should say.
The real beat of the day goes to those Nittany Lions backers who led 31-16 at the break and watched their cash get thrown out the windown in an absolute implosion. Penn State was then doubled up 48-24 in the second half by John Beilein's squad, 64-55.
The Wolverines shot 0-for-12 from three point range in the first half but overcame it all thanks to a game-high 25 points from DeShawn Sims.
Your winners for Friday are on:
2* Pacers (plus 3) at Minnesota.
2*Cavaliers (minus 2 1/2) at Denver.
My biggest play ever on this site wins as the 6* on Alabama took care of business on Thursday!
I do not at all love the Friday slate and just have two small plays.
Minnesota is one of the worst teams in the league and laying points to anybody makes me all about the underdog. Indiana is certainly not great at all and are a banged up club but they did just upset Dwight Howard and the Magic and are the better team today.
Al Jefferson is about all the 'Wolves have and in the end here this dog, even a bad one, is fine with me.
Roy Hibbert was awesome in disposing of Orlando and with Tyler Hansbrough and Troy Murphy expected to play today I'm backing the boys from Indiana.
Denver is just too banged up today to compete with LeBron and the Cavs. Carmelo Anthony is more than likely going to miss and Ty Lawson among a few others are injured and could miss here as well. It's never easy laying anything in the altitude of the Mile High City and I'm not saying that Mike Brown's team won't get beaten today but they are much healthier and a top three team at worst in the NBA to begin with.
This should be a fun game to watch with a pair of heavyweights but in the end the Nuggets are a bit too much behind the eight ball with the injuries.
