Greetings from press row at Fifth Third Arena. UC has a 39-27 lead right now at halftime against a pretty over-matched Bellarmine team. Darnell Wilks has been the offensive bright spot for the Cats shooting 5-for-5 from the field including 2-of-2 from behind the arc for 12 points.

The Cats are looking a little sloppy in transition in my opinion but it's not hurting them all that much. Yancy Gates threw a ball directly at the other team's player when trying to push the ball up the court on one possession. Still those are some thing I would expect Mick to clean up before the opener and maybe something he can address at halftime. They've turned it over five times in the first half.

Cashmere Wright is shooting too much. I'd rather see him run the point and not worry about shooting much at all. He's already 0-for-3 from the floor and 0-for-4 overall. If he's going to try to score he needs to take it to the basket and get fouled which he has done a couple times. He's 3-of-4 from the line.

Dion Dixon is 0-of-5 from the floor as well. Lance Stephenson is looking pretty good with 3-of-7 shooting in the first half for nine points.

As a team though, UC is just 12-of-34 shooting. You do the math but I can tell you that is not a very good percentage (35.3 percent to be exact, OK I'll do the math). I'll chalk that up to it being an exhibition game and these guys are still getting used to playing other teams.

More after the game. Be sure to follow my live tweets as well at twitter.com/sabelshaus.
