-The Reds go up 3-0 tonight after the second inning and blew it. An awful mistake by inexperienced reliever Josh Roenicke probably cost them the game tonight. With one out and the bases loaded, Philadelphia's Paul Bako grounded to first base. Joey Votto got the force at second base but Roenicke didn't get to first base to cover in time and the tying run scored. Dusty Baker was visibly upset and pulled the pitcher for Danny Ray Herrera. Philly scored two more runs in the inning to go up 8-6 and the replay showed that Roenicke slowed down before getting to first base.

-It seems like it happens every year to the Reds around the all-star break. The buzz around the Reds this season is that they're hard-nosed and don't quit. I don't know if they can come back from this series though. Philly took 3-of-4 and now they play the Mets for three games before the break.

Speaking of the Mets, David Wright is a cool guy.

-Rumors have started to fly around that the Reds are looking to add Colorado Rockies third baseman Garrett Atkins. Atkins is batting .224 with six homers and 25 RBIs ... in Colorado.

-Fui Vakapuna becomes the latest Bengal to sign. The fullback and seventh-round pick signed a four-year deal.

-Marge Schott was the former owner of the Reds who passed away in 2004. Her mansion/estate/castle/big-ass house is on the market. Here's a video tour of the $3.5 million pad.

-This is funny but turn your speakers down if you're at work.
