-After a crushing loss Friday night the Reds came back with a vengeance against the first-place Cardinals on Saturday. Cincy is now 40-39 and two games back of the Brewers and Cards. Micah Owings gave the Reds the starting pitching they needed today going 6 2/3 innings giving up two runs on six hits. He's now 6-8 on the year. Last season the Reds' fifth starter's won a combined four games.

-As for last night's game, it was brutal and you hate to see it. With that said, it happens. The Reds were up 3-0 going into the eighth inning. The Cardinals loaded the bases with one out with Albert Pujols coming up. He hit it out to put St. Louis up a run. They're were plays that should have been made or decisions by Dusty that could have probably been different but the bottom line is that Pujols is the best player in the game. It's going to happen. I would have walked the run in. If the Cardinals are going to beat you fine, don't let Pujols beat you.
