-Bill Koch at the Cincinnati Enquirer is reporting that UC is extending the contract of Mick Cronin for two years through 2014-2015. That's a little surprising to me but Mick has gone up in wins every year since he's been head coach despite two injuries to key players the past two seasons. 18 wins in 08-09, 13-19 in 07-08 and 11-19 in 06-07.
I like Mick and he brought some great players here while an assistant for Huggins. With that said, I thought that if he didn't make the NCAA Tourney this year that that would be it for him. I also think that they will make the tournament with their veteran players and Yancy Gates who will be the best big man in the Big East by the time he's a senior.
