As clever as I thought I was in naming this blog Everything But Poker – because I see televised poker as the prime example of the devolution of pure sport spectatorship and rise of corporate sports entertainment – it took no more than 40 seconds for Kenny Mayne to point out that some of the greatest athletes in the world compete from a seated position: wheelchair basketball players. Of course, I named the site with poker stars, NASCAR drivers and horse jockeys in mind, but Kenny nonetheless gives credit to a highly underappreciated collection of athletes.

So here, in the penultimate installment of our interview with ESPN’s Kenny Mayne, the former SportsCenter and current web series star opines on the name of this blog and gives a shout out to the handicapped athletes out there that deserve as much, if not more, respect as any of the multi-million dollar stars we see each night. Enjoy.
